CRKN welcomed two new members to the Board of Directors at the AGM: Melissa Just, Dean, University Library at the University of Saskatchewan was elected as a Director from the western region, while Ian Nason, Vice-President Finance & Administration, Dalhousie University was elected as a Director in a research/ administration position. During a subsequent Board meeting, the Board appointed Gwen Bird as Vice-Chair of the Board and Ian Nason was appointed as Treasurer.
On behalf of the CRKN membership, we would like to extend our appreciation to outgoing Directors Carol Shepstone and Chris Callbeck for their support for and contribution to CRKN.
Carol Shepstone joined the Board of Directors of CRKN in 2012 and accepted the role of Vice Chair in 2014. She previously served on the Finance & Audit committee and the Governance Review Committee, and participated in the reworking of CRKN's by-laws to comply with Canadian NFP legislation, and most recently, represented CRKN on the CRKN-Canadiana merger working group.
Chris Callbeck has been involved with CRKN since the inception of the CNSLP and served the Board as Treasurer since 2012. He was recruited to CRKN in 2005 by Ron MacDonald to sit on the newly-created Finance & Audit Committee, a committee that Chris would serve on until 2011. In 2012, following the adoption of CRKN's new by-laws and the move to the current governance structure, he was nominated for one of two researcher/administrator roles and appointed CRKN Treasurer.
